From mid February 2009 we are planning a number of guided ecotherapy walks throughout west Wales including the Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coast and the Preseli Mountains, the scenery is stunning and can be seen on our slide shows.

These walks are along ancient trackways and footpaths and include beautiful green valleys and dramatic coastline. The flora also adds to the enjoyment of the walk with various species in bloom from spring to autumn. We will include places where there is a particularly strong spiritual energy such as waterfalls, standing stones, and settlements etc.

The cost is £39.95 per person and includes an energy reading and counselling so we can adsvise on what colours you need to wear. The walks are for those aged 18+ and is meant to be exclusively for like minded adults who perhaps want to spend some time away from the children, dogs of course are welcome. People need to be reasonably fit as the distance will be around 7 to 10 miles. Please book at any time, payment is 14 days in advance. Refunds are proportional to the sevices you have received, a 50% refund is payable if you have received counselling but cancel the walk provided you give 7 days notice. Option of 50% refund if the walk is postponed or cancelled. We can take party bookings by arrangement at a date to suit you.

Participants on our walks are accepted on condition that they are physically and mentally fit, and able to cope reasonably with the demands of the walk without assistance from our tour leader or other party member. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for a guided walk where we are not satisfied that the applicant’s fitness and experience are appropriate to the walk selected.

Ceredigion Countryside & Coast Date to be Arranged

Contact us for full details and booking form.

The highlight of this walk is the first bloom of daffodils that lift the spirits after the gloom of winter. The picture below was taken on the 14th of February 2008. The cold winter of 2009 has delayed flowering by several weeks.

Colour therapy is a recognised complementary medicine and while regulation is voluntary I belong to the International Wheel of Colour which is a regulatory body that offers a remedy to a dissatisfied client. I am also insured and offer a money back guarantee, provided you tell me within a reasonable period of time. My Colour Therapy Diploma can be verified at the Iris School of Colour Therapy and see the page on ethics for more details.

The International Wheel of Colour (IWOC)
Is an independent non-profit association incorporating The Colour Therapy Council (CTC) that aims to provide an international register of people working with colour as a healing medium. IWOC practises voluntary regulation with the aim of establishing, upholding and advancing the standards and competence and conduct of those who practise Colour and Light Therapy and providing real guidance and support to Colour practitioners. Our members are required to sign a pledge to uphold the highest of ethical and professional standards and our Membership Certificate aims to help practitioners convey confidence and trust to anyone who is seeking their help.

Furthermore, the International Wheel of colour has a mission to create a global colour network furthering the use of colour therapy by bringing colour into the public eye. We will be widely advertised in magazines and our website will be linked to many other organisations and health directories. Join us now to create a powerful surge of colour energy and get the professional recognition you deserve.

The Colour Therapy Council is totally equalitarian and made up annually of a group of practitioner IWOC members chosen using colour psychology principles of colour personality archetypes. Its aim is to maintain professional standards by encouraging schools and manufacturers to submit their products and courses for IWOC approval status in return for the use of our distinctive IWOC approved logo.

The Wheel of Colour is the only organisation that uses the principles of Colour Therapy on our website and administration, the only one that helps to promote your career with comprehensive listings, direct links to your website, free downloads, and message board facilities and much more.To visit the IWOS click here

What a Colour Therapist Can and Cannot Do!
The difference between complementary and alternative medicine is that complementary does just that it ‘complements’ whereas ‘alternative’ replaces formal medical treatment. Therefore as with all complementary medical practitioners a colour therapist is not qualified to diagnose or cure any illness or disease, that is why if you are feeling unwell you should always consult your doctor. We can however directly treat some ailments but cannot claim to cure them.

Colour therapy is considered to be particularly beneficial as a complementary medicine with regard to stress or stress related psychosomatic symptoms, or where a positive frame of mind is essential to help you get better quicker. However, as with many types of complimentary medicine there is no scientific proof of colour therapy showing any medical benefit, ultimately that is for you to decide. Therefore all references to diagnosis or treatment etc are in relation to the spiritual and not the physical body. In that respect we can help you obtain a feeling of spiritual well being that in turn will help you feel good and look good enabling you to cope with life and situations much better than you could before.

What is Colour Counselling?

When people are stressed or go through a traumatic life event people sometimes seek counselling to help them through their difficulties, such events may also have a detrimental effect on their well-being that can result in seeking medical advice or treatment.

Colour counselling is about advising the client on the use of colour therapy as a practical way of assisting the natural healing process. Colour therapy is a self-help therapy and a recognised form of complementary medicine that combines colour psychology and spiritual healing. It is good for stress related conditions, where a positive frame of mind is needed to combat illness, or help make a full recovery from a physical illness. Once you are able to resolve the stresses in your life the resulting psychosomatic symptoms will dissappear. However, if you feel ill you should always consult your doctor before you seek any form of complementary medicine.

Using Your Computer for Colour Therapy

If you work all day at the computer you can easily use it for a bit of DIY colour therapy, simply set the background colour of your screen and leave it on, windows help will show you how to do this simply task. You do not have to look at it as your body will absorb the vibrations of the colour through your aura, so you can just leave it on while you work. However you do get a greater effect if can look at the colour so run your programme in a window with a few inches of background colour around the edge.

The Healing Effect of Colours

Choose which colours you feel you need or consult the colours listed below. Some colours are named and you can just type in their values, I refer to dark or a shade of the colour which have added black, and tints which have added white; these do have an effect on their healing qualities as dark colours or too much of one colour does tend to bring out the negative aspects, and tints have a gentle effect. I have also included some of the personality and health aspects associated with these colours as we take on the personality of the colour according to different circumstances and physical needs; which is another reason for choosing the colour you need.

Red - Colour of the Root Chakra Our Life-Source for Strength and Energy.

The root chakra is the seat of our life source energy that gives us our strength, courage and vitality, which is why shade of red can become argumentative, too pushy and a bully. Red is masculine energy that just goes for it, helping us face those situations that we know are going to be emotionally and physically tough, yet, it brings out our humanity and self sacrifice for others. Red is a great healer for it hangs up our emotional baggage. Good for furred arteries and the circulation but not for heart conditions. Use red where there is an imbalance in your chakra, and you feel tired and sluggish. With light reds we have the power to heal emotional wounds, but you must learn the lessons and defend yourself in the future.

Orange - Colour of the Sacral Chakra Helps You Feel Better.

Beware of too much orange as it can be overbearing, depressive, lack vitality and paranoid. However, it produces a feel good factor, which is optimistic and friendly. Improves health vitality and creativity, it will strengthen your resolve and help to bring to the fore any unresolved emotional issues. Known for its ability to treat people for shock, it lends emotional support in dealing with fears, phobias, shock, bereavement, and grief. Orange is related to the lower abdomen where it is useful for the kidneys, stomach, pancreas, bladder, and lungs, also relieves gall stones and ulcers. Natures physical and mental laxative it clears blockages from constipation to releasing emotional blocks to creative energy, good for removing that block on starting that job you really don’t want to do. Tints of orange work on a much gentler level, it is always cautious and checks things are safe.

Yellow - Colour of the Solar Plexus Chakra For Stimulation.

Shade of yellow is not recommended as people who expose hemselves to too much yellow can be critical and sarcastic, they run people down to make themselves look good. However, it is the brightest colour in the spectrum, yellow is good for creativity as it stimulates your brain power to inspire new ideas and solve difficult problems. Full of fun but also a bit of a butterfly flitting from one thing to the next, it also keeps you awake so not for the bedroom or night time use. Yellow is a great purgative that cleans toxins from the body. It can also give you a natural high, lifting depression and clearing negativity from the mind. Yellow tints help you cut through the crap to get to the heart of the matter, and then gets it ’sorted’. Much used in the winter for Seasonal Adjustment Disorder (SAD).

Green - Colour of the Heart Chakra For Harmony with People and Nature.

Shades of green are associated with being paranoid, hypochondriacs and greedy, as if that’s not enough they also struggle with jealousy, possessiveness and emotional upsets. they are literally green with envy. Green helps you relate to people and the environment, it brings peace, harmony, and prosperity. Its good for affairs of the heart; its neutrality in the colour spectrum provides balance between yellow and blue enabling you to see both sides of an argument. Green is the great healer for the heart both emotionally and physically, it helps with relationship difficulties and any psychological illness. Both relaxing and sedative it is good for the sympathetic nervous system, it will lower stress levels and blood pressure. Tint of green brings the shoots of fresh growth, and new adventures in love and life with child like enthusiasm.

Blue - Colour of the Thyroid Chakra For Truth, Loyalty and Expression.

The most popular colour but too much blue can make you shy, timid, and afraid to speak out to say how you really feel. its a sign of being overworked and undervalued, used & put upon, a doormat learning life’s lessons the hard way. Too much blue can be a bit mind numbing and depressing hence the expression of feeling ‘blue’. Blue Brings out the values of honesty and loyalty, together with contentment and understanding. It helps expression and communication so you can get your message across. Blue is the colour of the healer, it gives comfort to those in pain and reduces swelling and inflammation. It can also help with the grieving process. Its calming effects can reduce blood pressure. If you have ear, eyes, nose, and throat problems, that may be caused by not being able to speak out. Tint of blue can inspire, support, encourage, and helps you to help others.

Indigo - Colour of the Brow Chakra For Using Your Intuition.

Too much indigo is associated with being a perfectionist and too idealistic to be practical so don’t get hooked or go too deep, you may get lost and lose the plot. Indigo is the best colour for psychic protection and enhances psychic ability, it is the colour of intuition, our ‘third eye’ which is the link between this world and our psychic abilities, it is conscientious, devoted, committed, dogmatic, and has an all or nothing attitude. Good colour for insomnia, the strongest painkiller in the spectrum; Its good for headaches, sinus problems, migraine. and excellent for any sort of chest complaint. Tint of indigo will awaken your instincts, but also keep your feet on this planet.

Violet - Colour of the Crown Chakra The Spiritual Messenger.

Shade of violet or purple is one of few shades that have a positive effect as it brings us down to earth when we get too self indulgent, and overbearing. Violet is the colour that helps us pick up our intuitive voice or gut feelings that tells us what is happening, it puts us in touch with our spiritual creativity, and the gifts of artistic expression. The colour of the crown

chakra is the healer of all problems related to the brain. Violet is good for general inflammation of the nervous system, it relaxes the muscles, and helps sensitivity to pain and inflammation. Tint of violet has much of the strength and understanding of the full colour, but with a lighter buoyant disposition.

Pink - For Balanced Sexuality.

In the short term a shade of pink is good to balance love for others and yourself, however, to be able to forgive and love others you must love, forgive and accept yourself first. Too much pink over a long period of time can be counter productive. It harmonises and balances the polarity of red and white or the male / female aspects of the personality, a sort of gender yin and yang. Both expressive and receptive pink puts you in touch with your sexual feelings and sexuality. Pink is a very gentle healer for heartache, but healing will not happen without an emotional release. Visualising pink can defuse and bring calm to difficult situations. Tint of pink or rose pink is best for long term use concerning issues of heart ache, self love, self esteem, self worth, and self tolerance.

Grey - You Just Can’t Make Up Your Mind!

Shade of grey is the colour of the person who is looking for a solution and a way out of their quandary, but cannot decide what to do. Be careful, grey people can also be monsters of indecision trying to avoid any form of confrontation or hoping people will make the decision for them and therefore relieving them of any responsibility. Yet paradoxically grey seems to attract the adversity it tries to avoid, as the self inflicted pain and misery only leads to a self fulfilling prophesy and get other people at each others throats. On the bright side it does give you a warning that healing may be needed, grey is the only colour that warns you that there is something wrong, and illness and ailments are about to emerge, or something is going to fall apart. If you are used to black then grey is a sign that the dark days are over and you are now moving on towards the light on the horizon.

Brown - Fertiliser for Growth!

Too much brown and you can get stuck in the mud! Embrace change & take a chance. Let go of the past, and make sure you don’t miss out on the new. Down to earth, reliable and very loyal, but you are overly concerned about the past and future at the expense of the present. You have great patience and like a field waiting to be sown and harvested it has great unused potential. If you are in the brown stuff take heart, it helps you let go of the past and provides the fertiliser for new growth. A good choice to make if you need comfort, or time out to take stock. Brown is a no nonsense colour for logical thought or study. Light brown can make you you open to taking a risk, you work hard but will get there in the end.

Black - The Dark Side is Not all Negative!

Despite the negative connotations associated with this colour black is good for you. However, too much can lead to you being only concerned with yourself, and can bring out your worst. Like a black hole light goes in but gives nothing out, hence all take and no give. A mystical place to retreat for serious contemplation and to awaken psychic abilities. Secretive, dark, mysterious and definitely sexy, Yet it is also respectful formal and traditional. Black can be a safe and comforting place to retreat to for short periods of time prior to rebirth. Problems can be put on hold while you can see the vices and virtues of your inner self. Black is all powerful, but to benefit from it you must balance it with some white.

White - For Clarity, Purity and Cleansing.

White has the colours in the spectrum combined into one, enabling you to see things clearly without your judgment being coloured!. White light brings light to dark places offering hope, equality, peace for all. White light is a universal antiseptic, for both physical and emotional wounds. Cleansing of unwanted emotional baggage and helping you to move on. Also a great universal tonic. White will heal and strengthen the aura and remove negativity, with white light comes new growth and new ideas, expansion and creativity.

The Rainbow Diet & Solarized Water

The Rainbow Diet is based on the proponents of colour therapy; it is an easy to use system that ensures a healthy diet by the colours of food on your plate. Meals rich with different coloured fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish and whole grains mean you are getting the healthy variety of nutrients that your body needs. The rainbow diet is simply a balance of attractive colours in the foods we eat, but they play an instinctual part as to what the body needs in the moment. The colour energy of fruits, vegetables, vitamins and minerals all come into play when furnishing our bodies with the proper nourishment.

The Colour Energy Of Foods.

Medical research continues to find elements in fruits and vegetables that strengthen our immune systems, impede the development of degenerative diseases like cancer and heart disease, and contribute to good health in many other ways. Maintaining a healthy diet translates into eating more nutrient-dense foods. This means consuming a diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. In fact, the majority of the diet should consist of plant-based food. By eating a variety of natural, full spectrum foods, you obtain the healthiest combination your body can utilize. The colour energy of foods are not mutually exclusive, some foods share different “colour values”, properties and common healing affects.

To Aid Digestion Take Acidophilus.

It is the friendly bacterial flora found in yogurt or taken as a capsule and is essential to the digestive system. The normal, healthy colon contains “friendly” bacteria (85% lactobacillus and 15% coliform bacteria). When these bacteria are not in balance, then the person may experience bloating, flatulence, constipation, and mal-absorption of nutrients. Acidophilus taken as a dietary supplement may help to detoxify and to rebuild a balanced intestinal flora. It is used for the prevention of Candida as well as for treatment. Acidophilus aids the digestion and helps to replace the “friendly” intestinal flora.

Red Whole Foods.

Red foods are great sources of protein, vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, beta-carotene and lycopene.Vitamin C, beta-carotene and lycopene are potent antioxidants. Iron is vital to the body’s formation of red blood cells, which help carry and store oxygen throughout the body. Red foods are especially important to men’s health, as they have been linked to reductions in the risk of prostate cancer. Black beans are high in fibre and calcium whereas red beans are a good source of iron. Calcium strengthens bones and teeth. Include these red and black foods into your diet: Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, tomatoes, watermelon, guava juice, red cabbage, beetroot, radishes, red onions, chillies, red pepper, pink grapefruit, black beans, kidney beans, red meat, chicken, and fish.

Orange Whole Foods.

Orange foods assist in detoxifying and releasing toxins from the body. As in theChakra System, orange foods and orange energy help with the reproductive system, muscle and joint flexibility stagnation in many forms. Beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Calcium, copper, selenium and zinc are all plentiful in orange foods. These foods help people maintain good vision fortify the immune system, promote proper bone and tooth development and help in the formation and maintenance of healthy skin and hair. Include these orange foods into your diet: Apricots, peaches, oranges, mango, sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkins, squash, orange/yellow peppers.

Yellow Whole Foods.

Yellow foods generate power. These are foods rich in immune stimulating properties and vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin A, B complex, E, sodium, potassium, selenium and chromium. Many grains fall into this category. When we lack yellow energy in our diets it can lead to poor memory, lack of concentration, tension, irritability, digestive problems and a lack of proper absorption of nutrients. Omega 3 fatty acids have a yellow energy. Include these yellow foods into your diet: Lemon, bananas, grapefruits, rice, rye and wheat, eggs, certain fish, fish oils and foods rich in fatty acids.

Green Whole Foods.

The power of Green Whole Foods is essential for all day energy, greater focus under stress, sense of well-being, strengthened immune system, fewer food cravings and optimum synergistic balance of essential nutrients for total health. Green Whole Foods contain antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, active enzymes, bioflavinoids, chlorophyll and other phytonutrients necessary for optimal cellular metabolism, repair and protection!

Green Whole Foods contain the most powerful combination of nutrients in any grain, herb or food. They contain almost all of the vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes necessary for the human diet, plus chlorophyll. Green foods are rich in cancer preventing antioxidants and iron. Iron affects many aspects of daily life including the ability to concentrate and learn. The darker the green, the better so the next time you make a lettuce salad; try using romaine or green leaf lettuce instead of the traditional iceberg. Include these green foods into your diet: Asparagus, watercress, spinach, broccoli, parsley, dill, romaine lettuce, zucchini, green peppers, green apples, pears, avocados, green grapes kiwi and limes.

Blue, Indigo, and Violet Whole Foods.

The pigments found in blue and purple foods are high in anti-cancer properties. As in the Chakra System, these foods also coordinate the same energy centres. Blue foods tend to be helpful for the voice, organs and glands of the neck, while indigo and violet foods work in conjunction with the pineal and the pituitary glands. They also contain water-soluble vitamins that strengthen tiny blood vessels, which can help swollen feet or ankles, speed up the healing of bruises and promote healthy collagen for fewer wrinkles. Include these blue and indigo foods into your diet: Blueberries, black currants, plums, concord grapes, purple cabbage, as well as, Vitamin E, kelp, iodine and seaweed products. For Violet foods, red grapes are more violet than red and cranberry juice is violet and very healthy. Foods that include sugar and alcohol fall into the violet category because of their action on the brain.

The Rainbow Diet is the balanced diet, not only does it advises us against simple carbs and promotes whole grains it promotes variety. By eating variety, one is less likely to be deficient in essential nutrients because again you are eating all the different fruits, vegetables, spices and herbs. We apply the rainbow concept to fruits vegetables, proteins, spices, grains, herbs, etc. Here are few examples, vegetables include root, round, leafy and green vegetables that are all different colours, and they are abundant in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, bioflavonoids and hytochemicals.

Complex carbohydrates are whole-wheat grains, millet, brown rice, barley, oats, quinoa, buckwheat and others. They are all absorbed slowly by the body, thus keeping glucose and insulin low and provide long-lasting energy. Their mechanism of absorption gives a unique ability to prevent the steep decline in blood sugar levels that gives rise to hypoglycaemia and its characteristics symptoms, such as fatigue, mood swings, and food cravings. When you are in a balanced state, you more likely to make choices that sustain balance. In addition, this is what Rainbow Diet is all about creating long gentle rises and falls in blood sugar. This diet is rich in fibre, which makes digestion easy and regular. Finally, varieties of lean protein source pack this diet with essential amino acids, omega 3 oils, iron and vitamin B-12 that are all necessary to stay healthy. Rainbow diet promotes weight loss, without hunger, cravings, or feelings of being out of control.

Simple Guidelines

Here are some simple guidelines; high fibre, low fat, low salt, low sugar, complex carbs, five fruit and vegetables a day, and avoid processed foods. Each meal should be approximately 80% plant based and no more than 20% animal based. Your plate should look like a rainbow with lots of colours on it. A diet high in colourful fruits and vegetables has been shown to provide many benefits for your immune system and help fight cancer, allergies and free radicals that can wreak havoc on your cells and tissues.

Solarized Water

This is a simple and cheap way of applying colour to the body. When water is exposed to sunlight in a coloured container for at least an hour it becomes irradiated and takes on some of the vibrational energy of that particular colour. This is called solarized water. Special coloured containers can be bought, but they can easily be improvised using coloured cellophane. Simply drink (solarized water should always be sipped) this water at regular intervals throughout the day.

A red vessel will give red solarized water, a blue vessel, blue solarized water, etc. The longer the water remains exposed to the sun, the stronger is its potency. Solarization depends on temperature, geographical location and the time of the day. One simple way to determine if the water has absorbed the sun’s energy is to drop an ice cube in the glass of water to be solarized. When the ice cube has completely melted, the water is charged. Obviously, it will take more time in winter as opposed to in summer.

Storing Solarized Water

Fresh solarized water is preferred if practical. However, you can solarize the water and store it for few days at a time. Blue solarized water can be kept safely for a week or ten days in hot or cold weather. However, red, yellow, and orange solarized water should be changed every two days in warm weather and every ten days to two weeks in cold weather.

Colour Visualisation Also Known As Colour Breathing

Now used in UK hospitals to help cancer patients colour visualization, also called “colour breathing”, is a form of healing meditation in which you imagine yourself inhaling and exhaling colours. It should be practice together with a positive affirmation concerning the colour you are visualizing.

Before you begin this exercise, know that what you visualize you create. Simply holding a picture of a colour in your mind’s eye creates that colour. Although you may use external objects, such as fabric, candles or images of colours to perform this healing exercise, know that even without such external objects, you can create any colour you choose in your mind’s eye.

As you ask for healing, know that your intention to allow your body to magnetise whatever “vibration” of colour it needs will reinforce the healing that you ask for.

Find somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down and relax. Keep your breathing deep, regular, and calm. Breathe rhythmically from twelve to eighteen times a minute. If possible, use the colour of the spectrum or its nearest equivalent. Imagine the self engulfed by a white light that enters through the head (the crown chakra) from the cosmos down to the extremities and floods the entire organism from within and from without. Keep this image for two minutes.

Imagine yourself surrounded by intense light of the colour you choose. Be aware of the healing properties of the light. Red, yellow and orange, whichever one is used, is visualized as being drawn up from the earth through the soles of the feet to the various organs. The length of time for visualizing the red part of the spectrum is two minutes.

Blue, violet, and indigo should be visualised as coming down from the atmosphere as vertical rays into the crown chakra to the various organs. The length of time for visualizing colours in the blue part of the spectrum is three to four minutes.

Green should be visualised as coming into the navel on the horizontal plane. The length of time for visualizing the colour green is one minute in a waving motion upward from the umbilical cord and one minute downward from the umbilical cord, but always on a horizontal plane.

As you breathe in, imagine that you are inhaling this colour, and follow it as it spreads from your lungs to your solar plexus and then throughout your body as discussed for each colour.

As you breathe out, imagine that you are exhaling the complementary colour. Now mentally bathe the body and allow the entire self to be engulfed in a white light for two minutes.

Colour Cards and Affirmations

Your response to colour is greatly enhanced if can focus on the colour you require and the easiest way is by looking at a coloured piece of card that you can buy from stationers or craft shops, the bigger the better from A4 through to A1 which you can hang from the wall.

Colour affirmations that you make up your self also reinforce a positive frame of mind by means of self-suggestion and are easy to make up yourself. Simply identify the keywords you want from your colour choices and simply say something like I want the strength of red or I want the peace and calm of blue.

Having been through many traumatic life events I understand what stress can do to you so when I became involved in a battle on a matter of principle I knew I needed a coping strategy if I was to survive intact. It was the coping strategy that led me into colour therapy and get back into activities that I thought were lost to the passage of time, while winning the battle is still my main concern my future lies with what I have learned along the way. When stressed we are under pressure and have some kind of battle on our hands the causes of which are too numerous to be specific. However, here are a few general tips based on personal experience that you may find useful to keep stress under control or face up to the need for a serious change in lifestyle.

Try to Attribute Meaning to Your Experience - Violet

Most people know about Chiron the wounded healer, the premise is the therapist and client sharing the same problems creates a levelling effect preventing exploitation of the client by the therapist. My interest in shamanism led me to discover the path of the wounded healer whereby constant wounding and healing in our lives gives us an empathy with the client and because we have been through similar problems it helps us put or own ego needs to one side.

The most important thing is that we have been able to heal ourselves; that gives the client hope that they too will heal from the emotional trauma they are going through particularly when they cannot see any end to their despair. In this situation colour therapy may not make any noticeable change to how a person is feeling nor take the pain away but it will help them heal quicker and more completely from any emotion loss. Violet is the colour to use to reinforce your spiritual belief and faith especially when those around you are beginning to have doubts. Read a bit of existential psychology as it also helps if you can attribute some meaning to what you are going through, and helping others through a similar experience is the most meaningful of all.

Is This for Real? – Red, Blue, & Green

The old saying I could pinch myself when in doubt had some validity as inflicting pain is a way of finding out is something is really true and is a possible reason why some people harm themselves. When we are wondering am I losing it colour can bring put us in touch with reality, red is for grounding to bring us down to earth but is also extrovert, blue is introverted and mentally cooling to calm the hot head excesses of red, green is to maintain a sense of balance and to see things in proportion. The best way to experience these colours is in green fields under a blue sky by the sea wearing a red coat; better still get some exercise while you are there. Do not read a plot into everything that happens, on the other hand just because you are paranoid it doesn’t mean that people are not out to get you! If you are being bullied then http://www.bullying.org/ is a good place to learn about how they operate.

Anxiety & Shock – Green & Orange

Only expose yourself to what stress you have to and pace yourself; when feeling anxious the colour green will calm the heart and chest. If you are shocked then orange is the colour you need to cope with it and the effect it has on the stomach. Do not respond in the heat of the moment; leave it for a while, letters and emails read differently when you have calmed down and are in a different frame of mind.

Believe in Yourself and the Wisdom of Your Own Judgement – Orange and Gold

When stressed we do not feel very good about ourselves and begin to doubt our judgement, sometimes being able to ‘give’ is a sign of strength it means you are bigger than they are. To do that you must be confident but you must also be able to stand your ground when you know you are right in situations where compromise is not going to work. Stay positive and aim for your goals as pessimism is not reality; reality is what you can make it and even if you fail what you learn may help you get it right the next time.

Within this there is the issue of needing to be in control of your own life, sometimes we desperately need answers but the answer to your situation lies within yourself. As much as we would want it to happen it is highly unlikely that someone else is going to come into your life to solve it for you. If your self esteem needs a boost then orange is the colour you need and gold to value your judgement but too much gold is a sign of insecurity, gold is also good for the skin so use it if you have a stress related skin complaint.

Walking the Wire – Green & Yellow

If you feel as if you are walking a tight rope then you must hang onto something like the pole to stay balanced as these situations are very destructive either to yourself or to other people and neither of which is an option. Use green for balance and yellow to stay focused on getting to the other end. Beware of people wanting you to fall off!

Relationships – Magenta, Green or Blue!

This applies to relationships in general; partners, friends, colleagues and family etc. If you have supportive relationships then you need to look after them as best you can hence the magenta for compassion and green for harmony. However never get involved in a battle with anyone unless they share the same principles as you and are willing to pay the same price for failure, and that especially applies to your partner. People can grow and change through conflict and in doing so you leave others behind, they in turn can hold you back from winning the battle in order to hang onto you.

The conflict can become displaced setting up all sorts off jealousies and feelings of inadequacy and end up with a battle with those around you hence the blue as you may well end up grieving for a loss! It is also the colour to use to keep things cool and trustworthy in the work place. Sometimes we need to clear the decks before we even start in the knowledge of what is going to happen and the conclusion that sometimes you are better off on your own however painful it maybe at the time.

If your faith in human nature has taken a knock then the only person you need to believe in is yourself and if you are able to do that then you can also believe in others. Being cynical means that your thoughts and emotions are still dominated by the past, you are not in control and it may prevent someone else coming into your life as constant reference to the past can be nauseating; use blue to leave the past behind.

It’s Good to Talk But Silence is Golden – Blue & Gold

Conventional wisdom has it that talking things through can help and I believe that to be true hence the blue for communication so you can be heard and get the words out. However, the old saying that its easier to talk to a stranger is sometimes true because you do not have to deal with other peoples perception of you. Therefore you can deal with your own ego needs without having to deal with somebody else’s ego needs as well. So yes it’s good to talk but consider a counsellor who will help you decide what is best for you rather than make a decision based upon a load of competing interests, in this situation to avoid being drained by an argument its best to say absolutely nothing as you are not going to be dragged into an undignified argument.

Know Your Limitations – Red, Indigo, Gold & Black

This is a paradox because you do not know what your limitations are until you have pushed yourself and its surprising what you can do when you have to; you need the masculine energy of red for that push. However, you need indigo to listen to your intuition to know when its time to hand over to someone else; that you can trust. When stressed accept the fact that things are going to be less than perfect and make sure others accept that too.

The gold is to value yourself at the same time as letting go of the perfectionist aspects of indigo. Take a step back if you cannot see the wood for the trees and think what needs to be done next rather than what do ‘I’ do as the ‘I’ is the ego which has all the problems associated with it.

Do not exceed your authority and play it by the rules do not agree to anything outside of these or if you do reserve your rights as you will have a problem complaining about it later; use black for distance, tradition and the mystery of what’s up your sleeve. It is a sign of strength to accept your vulnerabilities with an attitude of nothing to prove; it means nobody can get to you.

The Prescribed Walk in the Park! - Red Blue Green Yellow & Indigo

This issue was recently in the news as doctors are prescribing it for their patients; here are the reasons from a colour therapy viewpoint why such an activity is so beneficial for a sense of well being.

There is a link between blue sky and levels of melatonin, which regulates our body clock and helps us sleep. The green of the countryside has a physically calming effect and is good for any heart conditions including high blood pressure. However, to balance green you need its complementary colour, which is red, red and blue are the most balanced colours.

So when stressed and wondering am I losing it colour can bring put us in touch with reality, red is for grounding to bring us down to earth but is also extroverted, blue is introverted and mentally cooling to calm the hot head excesses of red, green is to maintain a sense of balance and to see things in proportion.

Recent research has confirmed what we have known for years that exercise is as useful as psychotherapy in dealing with depression which seems to go with stress. However, most people myself included do not like exercise for the sake of it so I do it to enjoy other activities for which I need to keep fit. I do a lot of walking using sticks, which means I get upper body exercise at the same time and it makes walking much easier. I also use exercise as a time to think things over the extra flow of brain through the brain does help with the mental processes. Exercise is difficult when feeling debilitated but just 10 minutes exercise will boost the metabolism as a start to rebuild the connection between mind and body.

Exercise increases the flow of blood through the brain and stimulates the thinking processes, if you need to think things over then wear something yellow to help the mental processes or indigo to get in touch with your intuition.

Recommended music is Elgar’s Nimrod or Mozart’s EineKliene Nacht Music, which is in the key of G and blue music. Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony is very good as it includes the keys of

B = Violet – for spiritual inspiration

D = Orange - to remove mental blockages,

G = Blue mentally calming and healing,

E = Yellow which is grounding and helps you think things over,

A = Indigo which helps you use your own intuition.

F = Green for personal space and calm during a crises, also helps with a sense of balance.

Also recommended is Simon and Garfunkel or any acoustic guitar music is generally green.

Music & Aromatherapy – Red & Green

Music is good as sound is the oldest form of healing and can be used to balance the chakras and fire us up ready for an event or to calm us down after a hard time. The main colours for this are some heavy rock for red to get fired up and the calming effect of green from Simon and Garfunkel or similar music with an acoustic guitar, for classical music the Pastoral Symphony is just that green. I also use disco lights which are good you can change the bulbs for a predominant colour, I have mine set to produce turquoise which is very calming.

Drug Abuse / Risk Taking - Red & Blue

Obviously not a good idea but understandable as we need a lift or a brush with death to appreciate life, but there are safe ways to do it such as a white knuckle ride in a theme park. I go canoe surfing which on occasions absolutely terrifying but there is something about a rush of adrenalin that is highly addictive, it also keeps me fit and there is something about being in the sea that is also very therapeutic leaving negative energy behind. Red is for courage, I wear a red anorak when canoeing and often stare at the sleeve, the blue is for addiction to keep to keep the alcohol intake under control.

Areas of Concern and Areas of Influence - Yellow

I read this one in an ezine and it works, divide all your concerns into two groups the first being your areas of concern the second areas of influence which are defined as follows. Areas of concern are those issues that obviously concern you but over which you have not control whatsoever. Therefore, accept this as a fact yes it bothers you but do not let it bother you that much because there is nothing you can do about it, moreover it is wasted time and energy trying to do the impossible. Think along the lines of how best to manage the situation rather than trying to solve it. Areas of influence are those areas of your life over which you do have control and you can do something about it, therefore, looking for a solution is going to be worthwhile; so do it. Yellow is for hard logical thought.

Creativity – Yellow & Violet

Sublimation is a sort of defence mechanism whereby any kind of artistic activity is an expression of our inner feelings which for that reason also has a therapeutic value, art therapy is the usual means by which colour therapist achieve this. However if like me you cannot draw then in tune with some online art therapist use a graphics programme like Photoshop instead, there are many tutorials on the net for graphic design that are excellent for art therapy and you can improve your graphics skills at the same time. Writing can be therapeutic as is writing this article for all the reasons I have described.

Psychic Protection – White, Indigo & Gold

There are various books on this subject and I recommend reading them, here are some aspects that I have found useful. The use of white light visualisation to blot out any form of negativity and staying cool when people who make put down comments is I believe the most important as it trains you to do this naturally. So you if come across any negativity do not take it on board just blot it out as it’s not worthy of an answer and they are not worth the bullet. This is contrary to the conventional wisdom of talking things through but that presupposes there is a solution and game players will try to drag you into their game of blaming you for their actions in which case you will never win; again blot it out and leave it behind especially at the end of the day.

Sometimes just a calm look can be all that’s needed especially when things are getting a bit heated; you also need to know when it’s appropriate to make eye contact and what body posture to use to let people know you are in control. You can also visualise colours according to the situation.

You may find symbolism useful for this purpose such as pentacle, an Atlantean cross or a crucifix the colour gold for self worth is best. Indigo is the colour of psychic protection to be used when needed. Love thy enemy is a bit much but a poor misguided soul that you are going to torment in the next life will do! The reason for this tall order is they cannot get to you but you can get to them. Sometimes your enemies can be friends as they help you move on in life whereas friends try to keep you where you are.

Transition – Brown, Light Green & Blue

If you are stressed out then something has to go and in that respect it maybe a warning sign that you about to go through a life change, in which case plan it before it is forced upon you. At first you will not have all the answers they will come with the passage of time, if you are in the brown stuff see it a fertiliser for the light green opportunities of new growth which you need to grasp as they do not fall out of the sky. In nature a caterpillar goes into a chrysalis before it becomes a butterfly and it maybe you need to cocoon yourself to do the same. Brown is also a colour of retreat so you can take time out to rebuild and recoup. The blue helps in letting go any form of residual grief you may have about the past.

Look After No1 – Yellow, Orange, Blue & Rainbow

You are the most important person in the world; this is not selfish because if you cannot look after yourself then you are not much good to anyone else, and if you are on your own then nobody else is going too, yes it’s easier said than done but make the effort. There are a multitude of psychosomatic illnesses that result from stress the most common are stomach complaints hence the yellow and orange, but these colours also boost the immune system which gets run down and that is the most dangerous. The blue is to relieve the sense of guilt some people have on this issue. A rainbow diet should be followed as you need to keep healthy with immune boosting foods.

Feeling SAD or Need Some Sleep? - Sunlight, Sky Blue and Turquoise

Regularly waking up at three in the morning means you are stressed, no matter how tired you feel always get up in the morning as day night reversal means you are on a road to nowhere. Our body clock is regulated by the secretion of melatonin; it shuts off during the day and is secreted at night to help us sleep. Recent research has found that if you work under yellow fluorescent lighting you need twenty times the amount of yellow light as sunlight to stop daytime melatonin production, this also related to SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) so get out during the lunch hour to not only get sunlight but there is something about seeing the blue sky that also plays a part in our body rhythm. Bedroom colours are important no yellows for instance and the use of turquoise for sleep works for some people so try using turquoise bedding.

Colour Acupuncture & TCM - Yellow

Chronic fatigue syndrome is also associated with being stressed; there are several interesting articles on the net concerning the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine to unblock the flow of chi around the organs. It is the stomach meridian that is usually associated with this ‘dis-ease’ so try a bit of colour acupuncture with the colour yellow as a direct treatment.

Conclusion

I have read a bit about stress, psychology and helping theories, the problem is sustainability, yes they work for a short time but people just give up as its an effort. The good thing about colour therapy is on a bad day all you have to do is smell it, look at it, wear it, or listen to it, you can build colour therapy into a life style that in itself is rewarding and enjoyable that way it keeps working with very little effort.

Sound is the oldest form of healing and of that, it is the sound of the mother’s voice that is the most important. Sony conducted research in the 80’s that showed sounds played to babies while in the womb influenced their behaviour. It has been proven that like animals human babies can detect their mother’s voice from other females and there is evidence that they can do this in the womb too. Other research has shown that babies can remember and recognise sounds from the womb a year after birth.

The Colour of Music

Each colour has a corresponding musical keynote that in turn resonates with the respective chakra and as follows.

Resonance

Forced resonance or vibration is simply caused by one vibrating object forcing another in close proximity to vibrate though sheer power even though it may have a different natural frequency. This can have a detrimental effect upon us things like loud poor quality music which makes me cringe is guaranteed to make me feel aggressive and flee the area or demand it be turned down. Similar oppressive vibrations from people forcing issues can have the same effect with the same result. That is why noise pollution can lead to physical violence.

Sympathetic resonance is the projection of sound vibrations that cause another object to vibrate as it has the same frequency, singers breaking glasses in one example, as is metal vibrating to heavy bass sounds. We can experience a sympathetic resonance in our bodies in areas that have a similar vibrational frequency. Playing music of the corresponding colour can have the same effect as the colour itself as it resonates with the respective chakra frequency.

For example, I was playing Michael Bolton’s Drift Away holding the record sleeve and noticed it vibrated soon after the he started singing. I found the same thing happened with glossy paper so I analysed the keynote that was F#3 as there are I believe 6 sharps and 3 is obviously the middle one. I analysed Simon and Garfunkel’s ‘Emily Wherever I May Find Her’ and the same thing happened the glossy paper vibrated, I analysed it and it was F#4 almost identical. On both occasions, I could feel the music as being relaxing and a slight feeling in the chest as green relates to the heart chakra, I was not sure if holding the paper increased the feeling I had. The paper obviously vibrated more strongly the closer I held it to the speaker and may be a sort of litmus test for the keynote of F#.F# covers much of Simon and Garfunkel which I enjoy but I cannot say is my favourite it very much depends on my mood. I sometimes like rock most of which is C or C#, which gives me a lift. To help me settle down to study I have found strings helpful especially air on a G string in the keynote of D which is orange and a feel good colour Sometimes the clue to any ailment can come from the opposite star sign that have very similar keynotes. Therefore, as a Gemini I am F #, a Sagittarius is natural F, and the forces of these two opposites can sometimes mingle in the body.

Your Natural Sound Frequency

We all have a natural sound frequency; the simplest way of finding it is by looking at the keynote of your star sign.

When under pressure our physical body pull on the subtle bodies leaving them weakened and vulnerable to attack. We no longer have the energy to tolerate normal pressures or disturbances to our system, so be become more aware and less tolerant of the things that we find stressful or hurtful. Noise also causes interference and distortion with our ability to communicate effectively, hence mixed messages and misunderstandings arise that can cause conflict.

While this is not ‘music therapy’ per see studies published in medical and musical journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Lancet and the Journal of Music Therapy are finding that music can; reduce blood pressure, improve immune function, and decrease the length of hospital stays for both children and adults.

Rhythm

Rhythm is what gets or primal energies and instincts going, it stimulates the heart and flow of blood that may account for the expression rhythm of life. Ancient peoples have not only used the drum and dance to wind themselves up before battle but also as a form of healing to stimulate the base chakra which is coloured red.

Using rhythm for healing can be a group activity as there are what is know as drum circles which is simply a group of people making rhythmic music. Drum circles are becoming a popular form of complimentary healing in America and scientific research has proven that participating in drum circles increases the number of “killer cells” in the body. These cells are those responsible for seeking out and destroying specific disease organisms including AIDS.

The Healing Value Of Melody

Melodies can soothe emotional and mental distress for when the normal vibrational activity of certain body parts is disrupted disharmony or disease sets in. Research suggests music seems to override the disharmony in the brain that causes depression and other forms of emotional disorders and puts it back to where it should be. It helps discharge negative feelings, facilitates communication and increases socialisation with other people. This results in greater personal expression with resulting boost in self-esteem

The medical benefits include use for the pain relief of cancer patients and behaviour problems associated with Alzheimer’s disease, a reduction in blood pressure, improved immune system functioning and faster healing resulting in a shorter stay in hospital. Melody is helpful for doing repetitive bodily functions where timing is important

Musical Notes That Are Good For Emotional Healing

Whereas C# is the keynote of the earths orbit around the sun, F# is the keynote of the spin of the earth and relates to what makes us humans the dominant species; the power of the mind and the attainment of intelligence, however with this ability comes problems from emotional disturbance to mental illness. The keynote F# relates to the air signs Gemini and Sagittarius that are F# and F respectively and sometimes these opposites are intermingled.

With analysing keynotes, this can change from F to F# according to how the music is analysed so for this purpose I suggest that there can be some allowable variation in keynotes to have the same effect. Therefore, a keynote on this scale should be aimed for as being best for any sort of emotional imbalance and healing.

The other thing I have noticed while playing around with traditional Japanese music for a website, is that stereo enhancement and adding a slight echo to string music has a very pleasant emotional effect. Perhaps it is because it causes addition sympathetic resonance of the keynote but it does work better for me than the original music, although on poor quality speakers it can sound a bit tinny. Tempo is another consideration and something not to fast otherwise we miss the detail in the music and that brings me to make the point as a bit of an audiophile that good audio reproduction is an essential part of the healing process.

Instruments for the reproduction of F keynotes are stringed instruments such as guitars, violins, harps, piano, and the organ. The types of music are the folk rock of Simon and Garfunkel’s, rhythmic folk music, Irish folk songs, Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, Strauss’s waltzes, Brahms Hungarian Dances or any stringed classical music in the key of F to F#.

Pink is a Fake!
The word pink was first used to describe colour in the 1600’s to name the light red flowers in the dianthus family as ‘pinks’ a close relative of carnations. However, light red is not pink as pink has a bit less green in the colour mix, pink is a fake or more commonly called a combined colour incorporating two different wavelengths of light from the colour spectrum that the receptor cones in our eyes perceive as one colour.

The ability of our eyes to do this is based upon the varying sensitivity of different cells in the retina different wavelengths of light. The retina contains three types of colour receptor cells, or cones. The first type, relatively distinct from the other two, is most responsive to light that we perceive as violet. Cones of this type are called short-wavelength cones, S cones. The other two types are closely related genetically and chemically. One of them called long-wavelength cones, L cones, is most sensitive to light we perceive as yellowish-green; the last type called middle-wavelength cones, M cones, is most sensitive to light perceived as green.

We See Colours the Same as Televisions and Computers
Put simply we perceive colour in the same way as televisions and computers as a mix of Red Green and Blue or what is commonly referred to as RGB, where the green replaces yellow as a primary colour. Regarding computers there is another format known as CMYK which is made up of cyan magenta yellow plus black which is used for printing as the use of black is more economical than mixing other colours.

CMYK is a subtractive model in that you start with white and then darken it by subtracting wavelengths of light. RGB it is an additive model, you start with black which is no colour at all and is assigned a three digit RGB value of 0,0,0 respectively. Wavelengths of RGB are then added to lighten the colour to a maximum of 255 with RGB values of 255,255,255, respectively being white. There is a hexadecimal code which would read as FFFFFF for white but we do not need to worry about that for the purpose of this article. Because we see RGB in the same way computers are very useful in being able to analyse how colours are made up; to do this in Windows right click your screen > click properties > click desktop > click colour > click other and you get this.

Pink Is Different From Light Red
Enter the RGB values for pink of Red: 255 Green: 192 Blue: 203 then click add to custom colors > click OK > click Apply and your screen goes pink! Now try this enter RGB values for Red of 255,0,0 then using your mouse raise the slider on the right it increases G & B in equal parts set it at 203 or type the numbers in the box to get this. It takes a while to notice but there is a very slight difference, pink has less green and is therefore slightly darker.

There is a list in a pdf file of Netscape ‘named colours’ which you can download here to see how colours are made up of varying RGB values, they are called ‘named colours’ because you just type in the name when using them in web design. There is also a web site with 500 colours identified colours at cloford.com but they are not named colours and cannot use the name in HTML code but you can use the code.

Turquoise and Red/Orange Make Pink!
Research of the internet led to information that pink resonates near the base and at the higher heart chakra. Aspects of the base or root chakra are well known so I will not go into detail. What is less well known is the turquoise higher heart chakra which is located at the thymus between the heart and throat chakra which is about communication, therefore, turquoise is a bridging colour enabling communication with the heart and combining blue and green is sometimes referred to as the master healer.

We can see that combining turquoise higher heart issues together with the sexual aspects of the base chakra explains why pink is associated with sexual issues and not sex per see. It is to help resolve heart ache and maintain a sense of balance and to do this things can go up and as down to create an equilibrium. Going back to our RGB values while any combination of two different wavelengths can be used to add to the value of pink they need to be split to create colours that resonate at the respective higher heart and base chakra’s.

Lets start with turquoise the value for this named colour is R: 64 G: 224 B: 208 however for the purposes of healing and according to sources other than Netscape turquoise is half green and half blue so would have values of R: 0 Green: 255 Blue: 255 commonly named as cyan, aqua or azure.

Go back to Windows desktop and type in the values of RGB 255,192,203 respectively for pink; now subtract the values for turquoise of 0,255,255. Subtracting 0 from 255 is easy and leaves 255 for red, subtracting 255 from 192 is minus 63 but because of the 255 maximum this becomes plus 63 as you cannot have a minus value, the same applies to blue which 255 from 203 becomes 52. Enter the result of RGB 255,63,52 into the colour selector and you get this which looks like red orange and will resonate near the base chakra. The closest identified colour is on the cloford web site previously mentioned and is called firebrick 1! Red/orange values are RGB 255,69,0 which has no calming blue. Turquoise and red/orange are also complimentary colours and will reinforce the properties of the other in a combined colour of pink.

‘Solarizing’ Splits Pink Into Two Colours - Red Orange and Turquoise
Earlier this year I designed a web site on the use of healing gemstones to balance the chakra’s which I learned as part of the diploma course. Having acquired a nice rose quartz point and some double terminated clear crystals I took a picture part of which you can see on the left and just shows the rose quartz point. Rose quartz is near enough a tint as equal amounts of green and blue have been added to make it whiter.

The picture was a bit dark so I put it through Photoshop and improved the highlights. I then ‘solarized’ the picture using a filter that combines a positive and a negative image. The word solarized clearly suggests that this process involves colours being split into those of the colour spectrum of natural sunlight. The result on the right was that Photoshop split the pink into two wavelengths of light which you can see is turquoise and red orange and in my opinion as I cannot say this is a scientific fact shows these are the colour wavelengths that are being emitted when a rose quartz crystal point is being used. The colours may not be exactly true to the specified colour values as there are so many variables involved but its close enough to count and be effective. You may wish to check this out with cloford colour chart they are near enough firebrick 1 and cyan/aqua otherwise known as turquoise.

The Calming Effect of Pink Does Not Last!
With this knowledge I have set my universal pendulum between green and blue and to red/orange to balance people with the need for pink energy. It may also account for the saying of being in the pink of good health and ones physical, emotional, and sexual needs are all being met. I wear pink/light red shirts sometimes as it can tone down a masculine image. Folk-lore has it that pink in prison cells has a calming influence on aggressive personalities and in the short term it does as the turquoise has an immediate effect, however, after a short while the base instincts of red/orange seem to take over and they become more agitated and sexually frustrated than before. So perhaps full colour pink is only for short periods of time as it becomes counter productive, however, the gentler rose pink together with the cooling and calming effect of turquoise is best for long term healing.

The Pink Personality

Keywords associated with Pink are:
Peace, love, feminine, nurture, understanding, sympathy, friendship, compassion, relaxation, gentle emotions, overcoming evil, honour, morality, friendship and success.

Personality characteristics are:
People who love the colour pink either seek or already enjoy a peaceful state of grace or bliss. Pink people are very intelligent and contemplative, they study, analyse the best way to go about something before they take action. They may appear slow as a result, but are merely methodical in their thoughts and hard working. These people try to see and bring out the best in others, truly loving everyone.

Sometimes overly optimistic, these people tend to look younger than their years and view the world in such a positive light it can be dazzling. Shy, they would like to be more active but fear precipitous action, choosing not to make mistakes because they do not wish to be judged unfairly by others. Humour is a tool pink people use to make others happy or to defuse situations although they may not be ribald, instead possessing a dry wit.

They have an affectionate, loving nature, which makes you sympathetic and understanding. Harmonises and balances the polarity of red and white or the male / female aspects of the personality, a sort of gender yin and yang. Both expressive and receptive pink puts you in touch with your sexual feelings and sexuality.

Negative characteristics are:
Pink people can overly optimistic or smile constantly which can sometimes irk others when this is inappropriate and are sometimes called a ‘pollyanna’. Pink personalities can be immature, needy, emotionally unstable, cold and isolating. Pink shows a lack willpower and weakness when it comes to controlling affairs of the heart. You need a great deal of support from others and can be a bit immature. Pink is about learning to accept and love yourself for which a tint might be more appropriate. Not for the faint hearted, to wear pink you must be self-reliant to attract and give out the feelings of warmth and love you desire.

Health & Emotional Issues Associated With Pink
There is a danger of being too emotionally dependant. Pink is a very gentle healer for heartache, but healing will not happen without an emotional release.

As pink is the colour of compassion it generates feelings of softness, gentleness, kindness, affection and love. It is the colour of ‘Manifestation’ and transmutes desire into its physical equivalents. It’s subtle and refined vibration increases blood flow to the brain and stimulates the sympathetic nervous system. Physical symptoms of blocked Pink energy are:

Pineal Gland Dysfunction

High Blood Pressure

Nervous Breakdown

Disorders of the Sympathetic Nervous System

Chronic Tiredness

Memory Lapses

Colour, Shades and Tints
With any colour the effect of a shade which has black added or a tint which has white added to the colour should be taken into account as shades tend to bring out the more negative aspects of the colour or can create intense feelings, whereas tints with the addition of white have a gentle effect on the process.

Harmonises and balances the polarity of red and white or the male / female aspects of the personality, a sort of gender yin and yang. Both expressive and receptive pink puts you in touch with your sexual feelings and sexuality.

Healing.
Pink is a very gentle healer for heartache, but healing will not happen without an emotional release. Visualising pink can defuse and bring calm to difficult situations. Pink helps us to learn that we must love and forgive ourselves, before we can do the same with others.

The Short Answer Is
Women like pink because the red arouses base sexual instincts and the orange stimulates the internal sexual organs while the turquoise stimulates the higher heart chakra to trigger the emotions, so its not just a need for sex but a need for sex with love and passion is the appeal. But we knew that anyway!

From the murky sea comes pure white waves to clear your mind while the brown and black cliffs provide a place of retreat. This slide show is for a long switch off from the world around you and not to be rushed, but you do not need to look at it all the time as you will benefit from the vibrations of the colours. Play it while you do some work and if you have an Ipod its best watched while listening to Elgar’s Nimrod.
