What is Ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy, is a term used to describe the benefits of doctors prescribing a ‘Walk in the Park’ as a means of helping people with mental health problems. It is well known that the first and perhaps the major symptoms of stress, depression or mental illness is the breakdown between a person and the people around them, the effect of this can be seen in the home and the work place leading to erratic behaviour, strained relationships and social isolation. There is also an ecological element to this condition, we as humans suffer these problems because we have the ability to think and reason, therefore we may see ourselves as being apart and perhaps superior to the natural world. Ecotherapy Walks

From mid February 2009 we are planning a number of guided ecotherapy walks throughout west Wales including the Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coast and the Preseli Mountains, the scenery is stunning and can be seen on our slide shows.

These walks are along ancient trackways and footpaths and include beautiful green valleys and dramatic coastline. The flora also adds to the enjoyment of the walk with various species in bloom from spring to autumn. We will include places where there is a particularly strong spiritual energy such as waterfalls, standing stones, and settlements etc. Read more…

Slide Shows

We have put together a series of slides shows to help you relax while you are at the computer, they range from spiritual places in west Wales and the Preseli Mountains to the beautiful countryside of the Pembroke and Ceredigion and the world renown Cardigan bay and Pembrokeshire coastline. If you feel a response to the colour then you really do need to get out more often!
